Mesa State College
XUMA Communications recently came to idolum to cut the first in a series of spots for Mesa State College.
The image spot titled Moving Forward emphasizes Mesa's continued commitment to their students with innovative programs, cutting-edge technology, and a welcoming campus.
John Riccardo did the cut with Bob Maple (idolum) completing the online edit and color correction.

DishHOME
Fusion Creative sent us into a world of paper cutouts to design and create a new spot for DISH Network's Channel 100 interactive application.
Fusion director John Funchess wrote and produced the :30 spot, collaborating with project lead Bob Maple of idolum to create a fun 3D look out of flat art, inspired by that of pop-up books. The spot serves to highlight the movie ticket service Fandango and the game Hunting Trails, both available for DISH Network customers to access and play right on their TVs. Audio sweetening was done by Coupe Studios.
You can check out the completed spot in our work section.

The New Denver Ad Club
Expanding on his comedy repertoire, Jim Elkin of Roshambo Films directed three web spots for the New Denver Ad Club.
The portfolio review program NEXT helps young creatives getting started in the business by giving them honest feedback about their work. The spots, written by Matt Ingwalsen from Karsh, feature a man who gives praise without merit to those in otherwise dire situations, driving home the point: "Nice makes you worse."
Edward Done served as DP, and other key crew members included Paul Trantow and Jon Firestone.

Powered by Vuka
Slipping into an after-lunch coma? Try Vuka - the official energy drink of idolum!
Vuka is a new entry into the energy drink market but with unique formulas and flavors to target specific activities throughout the day. The :30 TV spot (and extended web version) star an office worker whose feeling a bit out of place in his scuba gear - a metaphor for having taken the wrong energy drink for his day.
Conceptualized by Alex Bregman, Jim Elkin of Roshambo Films directed, with Robert Smith as DP shooting on the RED camera. Additional crew included Scott Terhark, Jon Firestone and George Tague. John Riccardo cut the spots in Avid with Bob Maple doing the online and 3D product animation.

DISH Network
Working with Prism Productions idolum recently completed the 3rd set in a series of direct response commercials for DISH Network.
The campaign centers around Sandy Brown, a savvy woman whose found the secret to saving her family money on TV. This time around we meet Sandy's husband and spread the word to a couple of neighbors too.
Wally Miles of Prism directed the spots, shot by Scott Tuke. John Riccardo provided the creative cut, with audio sweetening by Coupe Studios.
